Prajamandal means people's group (organization). In the 1920s, the atrocities of the Thikanedars and Jagirdars were increasing day by day. because of thisVarious movements by farmersBesides this, freedom movement was also going on in the country under the leadership of Gandhiji. Due to all this, there was awareness among the people of the state and they formed an organization (mandal) and started a movement against the atrocities which was called Prajamandal movement.

The objective of the Praja Mandal movements was – “to end the princely misrule and establish a responsible government which is accountable to the people”.

The Prajamandal movements in Rajasthan were as follows -

1. Jaipur Prajamandal(1931)

In 1931, Karpoorchand Patni and Jamnalal Bajaj(Gandhiji's fifth son) Jaipur Prajamandal was established due to his efforts.

2. Bundi Prajamandal (1931)

Established in 1931 by Shri Kantilal.

Bundi Rajya Lok Parishad was established in 1944 by Rishidatt Mehta.

3. Marwar Prajamandal (1934)

This Prajamandal was founded by Jayanarayan Vyas (Sher-e-Rajasthan) in Jodhpur.

In 1938, Marwar Lok Parishad was formed under the chairmanship of Ranchod Das Gattani.

4. Hadauti Prajamandal (1934)

Founder – Nayanuram Sharma

In 1938 (1939 in some books), Kota Prajamandal was formed by Nayanuram Sharma and Abdhir Hari.

5. Dholpur Prajamandal(1936)

Formed in 1936 by Krishnadutt Paliwal, Shri Moolchand, Shri Jwala Prasad Jigyasu etc.

6. Bikaner Prajamandal(4 October 1936)

Formed on October 4, 1936 by Vaidya Magharam (President) and Shri Lakshmanadas Swami.

The only Prajamandal of Rajasthan which was established outside Rajasthan, Calcuttahappened in.

Bikaner State Council was formed by Raghuvardayal in 1942.

7. Shahpura (18 April 1938)

Formed on April 18, 1938 by Shri Rameshchandra Aujha, Laduram Vyas and Abhay Singh Dangi with the cooperation of Shri Manikya Lal Verma.

Shahpura was the first princely state which established responsible governance.

8. Mewar Prajamandal (24 April 1938)

Founder – Manikya Lal Verma

Chairman – Balwant Singh Mehta

Vice President – ​​Bhurelal Baya

In 1941, the first session of Mewar Prajamandal was held at Shahpura Haveli in Udaipur under the chairmanship of Manikya Lal Verma. In this J.B. Kripalani and Vijayalakshmi Pandit participated.

9. Alwar Prajamandal(1938)

Established in 1938 by Pt. Harinarayan Sharma and Kunjbihari Modi. After its registration in 1939, Sardar Nathamal became its president.

10. Bharatpur Prajamandal(1938)

Prajamandal was established in 1938 through the efforts of Kishanlal Joshi.

11. Sirohi Prajamandal (23 January 1939)

13. Kishangarh Prajamandal (1939)

Established in 1939 by Shri Kantilal Chauthani and Shri Jamal Shah (Chairman).

14. Kushalgarh Prajamandal (April 1942)

Formed in April, 1942 by Shri Bhanwarlal Nigam (President) and Kanhaiyalal Sethia.

15. Banswara Prajamandal (1943)

Founded by Bhupendranath Trivedi, Dhulji Bhai Bhavsar, Mani Shankar Nagar etc.

16. Dungarpur Prajamandal (1 August 1944)

Bhogilal Padya(Vagad's Gandhi) and by Shivlal Kotaria

17. Pratapgarh Prajamandal(1945)

Established in 1945 AD through the efforts of Shri Chunnilal and Amritlal.

18. Jaisalmer Prajamandal (15 December 1945)

On December 15, 1945, Mithalal Vyas established Jaisalmer Prajamandal in Jodhpur.

19. Jhalawar Prajamandal (25 November 1946)

Formed on November 25, 1946 by Shri Mangilal Bhavya (President), Kanhaiyalal Mittal, Maqbool Alam.
