Later in 2008, the Central Government declared it a national project, under which 90 percent of the money will be spent by the Central Government and the remaining ten percent will be spent by the states. Under Lakhwad ProjectLohari village of Dehradun district in UttarakhandA 204 meter high concrete dam is to be built on the Yamuna river near. Uttarakhand will get the entire 300 MW power generated under the project, which will cost approximately Rs 1400 crore. Uttarakhand will bear this expense.
